INXS manager Chris Murphy has signed a worldwide publishing administration deal with Universal Music Publishing Group, who will provide ongoing support for Murphy's latest project.

Building upon the success of the INXS TV miniseries earlier this year, Murphy has been building his latest Sydney-based venture Murphy Rights Management. Sydney's Lepers & Crooks, a band Murphy has been very vocal in praising, are the first signing to MRM.

Being an administration deal, MRM will retain the publishing and recording rights for their artists while utilising UMPG's structure and resources around the world.

Via MusicWeek Murphy said, “I'm thrilled to be expanding my relationship with Zach [Horowitz, UMPG's Chairman and CEO] and UMPG, which started with INXS last year and will now include a host of new initiatives in publishing – as we find and break the artists of tomorrow.
