Music, visual art, technology and more will collide for the nascent Yonder festival

If you're in Brisbane but can't quite decide on something to keep you busy this weekend, perhaps the second Yonder festival is the answer you've been looking for.

In case you're not familiar with Yonder — and, given the event's relative youth and how much stuff tends to happen in the city on an average Saturday night, you could be forgiven if so — the event will be held at The Tivoli this Saturday, 18 February, and comprises creative attractions for just about everyone, from music and performance to technology and visual art, and everything in-between.

This weekend's seriously impressive musical line-up is especially salivary, boasting a wonderfully eclectic array of local acts including the likes of Average Art Club, The Con & The Liar, Hazards Of Swimming Naked, Jouk Mistrow, Leanne Tennant, The Mouldy Lovers, OKBADLANDS, Papperbok, Simi Lacroix, Twin Haus and more.

Hip hop fans are especially well catered-for, with the team at Yonder setting up a dedicated Rap Stage with an absolutely stacked line-up of respected rhymesmiths, including Keta Beats, The Loose Screws, Mascon Echoes, Ozai, Skrub, Spacecowboy4005 & Icherus and Syntax Junkies.

As mentioned, it's not just attractions of a melodious and rhythmic bent set to make Yonder worth a look-see — there will also be performance pieces from Background Noise, Theatre Of Thunder and Mesmerism, while Kingspray will be showing off his virtual-reality graffiti skills and Love & Sex Gaming is sure to prove that not everyone who fiddles with joysticks can't knock boots with the best of them.

Also on the bill are visual projections courtesy of 085c3n3, Chronic Bone and Lazerface Productions, visual artists Amelia K Fulton, Bella Reboul, Camilla Hine, Daniel Sherington, Emma Le Strange, Jesamie Floss, James Hornsby, Georgia Craig, Kimi Schieren, Nooki, Kyel Golley, Sarah Greenwood, Teens On Acid and many more, plus live art from Sofles, Sarge, Zena, 085c3n3, Diz Brown and Mark Richardson.

Seriously, the entire event a collaboration between The Brisbane Collective, Brisbane Street Arts Festival, Sailor Jerry's and Young Henrys is like one big creative TARDIS of activity, with way more going on within the Tivoli's grounds than you'd conceivably expect, and it's all available for less than $50 ($45.88 plus fees).
