The Triffid is known for its band room and impeccable music programming, beer garden, and summer vibes. But what if it could gain a reputation for something else?
In late December, the Brisbane venue announced it would introduce free treats for dogs. Secret Brisbane reports that, unlike other dog-friendly establishments, The Triffid has gone the extra mile to introduce treats for man’s best friend.
Next time you visit the Triffid Garden, you might just see a cute little fluffball or big dog chomping down on a treat made especially for them. This summer, dogs in Brisbane can enjoy their own San Chow Bow Wow.
The venue and Secret Brisbane have confirmed that the treat is made of a house-made dog patty wrapped in lettuce, which is optional, and can be accessed for free from Thursday to Sunday.
Upon announcing the venture, the venue shared, “The Triffid now has free treats for your doggo! We trialled them over the weekend, and our furry focus group had thoughts.
“Here’s what made the cut:
Pure beef, nothing else
A touch of parsley for happy tummies
No seasoning, no extras
Lettuce leaf optional - apparently a divisive choice
“Bring your pup down and let them be the judge!”
Get ready to enjoy a burger while your dog has a treat next time you visit The Triffid.
In other news related to The Triffid, the venue crowned the 2025 Album of the Year in November. Local rockers Full Flower Moon Band took home the win with their rollicking effort, Megaflower.

Accepting the award, the group – led by the charismatic singer and guitarist Kate “Babyshakes” Dillon – acknowledged the strength of Brisbane’s music scene and thanked their fans for voting for them and getting Megaflower hand-painted onto the Hero Wall.
In addition to getting a spot on the wall alongside The Go-Betweens, The Saints, and more, the band have received a $3,800 marketing package from The Music, as well as a rehearsal day in The Triffid’s Live Room.
