The iconic and renowned Alberts music studio in Sydney, which launched the careers of a number of massive Australian acts including AC/DC and The Angels, is set to be demolished to make way for a new property development project.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the studio known as the 'House Of Hits' is being sold to a developer who intends to build a block of 23 luxury apartments and shops worth over $60 million dollars.

Helm developers finalised the deal with the owners of Alberts and it is set to be torn down early next year — it is unclear at this stage if the music studio will relocate.

The property has been given the name 'Muse' in honour of the building's heritage.

Helm General Manager Mark Monk said of the property's name "is reflective of the building and the creative endeavours that have taken place in the building over the years."

After relocating from King Street to Neutral Bay in 1984, Alberts has not only hosted some of the country's biggest acts, but it has also been used by a number of international acts, including Ellie Goulding and David Guetta.

The Music has contacted Alberts for comment.
