Former Powderfinger guitarist Ian Haug has left his post as the Director Of Live Entertainment at Brisbane venue the Eatons Hill Hotel.

Haug had taken up the role just over four months ago, but has now indicated that he will be returning to focusing on his studio recording business, Airlock Studios.

In a statement he said, “Whilst I am thankful, and have enjoyed the opportunity and experience, I have completed my term.”

Jonathan Jackson will be taking over booking the venue's Grand Ballroom, while Haug will be contactable through his venue email for the next month to aid with the transition.

The venue is 19km from Brisbane's CBD and has a 2,000 capacity, which can be reduced to 500 for smaller shows.

“It really is the best venue of its size in Brisbane,” said Haug, “and it's not too far to go.”
