The Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown has withdrawn from a headlining set at an upcoming UK festival due to his stance on COVID vaccinations.
Just days after tweeting that he would "NEVER sing to a crowd who must be vaccinated as a condition of attendance", the 58-year-old singer announced today that he will no longer be performing at the Neighbourhood Weekender Festival, which has been rescheduled to September at Victoria Park.
"My Saturday night headline show at NHBD Weekender Festival will now not happen," Brown tweeted.
"I refuse to accept vaccination proof as condition of entry. Refunds are available!"
The festival is yet to publicly state if vaccinations are a condition of entry.
Brown has been very vocal about his stance against COVID vaccinations and lockdowns, with the latest tweets about his withdrawal from NBHD Weekender drawing criticism online.
It has since been confirmed that Manchester outfit James will replace Brown's headline slot.
Other names set to perform at the three-day event include Catfish & The Bottlemen, The Wombats, Gerry Cinnamon and Aussie favourites, Gang Of Youths.
