Country and roots
The Hunter Valley’s newest festival has revealed its first line up of acts with the John Butler Trio, Lee Kernaghan and Kasey Chambers to headline Campfire Festival.
Taking place on Hope Estate, the festival has arisen following CMC Rocks’ decision to move to Queensland. Hope Estate owner Michael Hope subsequently announced a replacement event – across the same weekend – which has today taken the wraps off of its line up.
Taking place Friday 13 to Sunday 15 March, there is certainly a country-tinge – with Kernaghan and Chambers being two of the country’s biggest country artists – and they’ve stuck to Australian artists. However there is also a roots angle with Butler and Ash Grunwald on the first announcement.
“All the major promoters now view Hope Estate as world-class venue capable of hosting and delivering world-class shows,” Hope said. “It’s a testament not just to our own people, but the whole Hunter event community that pitches in to show visitors a great time and unforgettable experience.”
