Race returns to Australia for east coast dates.
His first album as a true solo artist is set for a release early next month and Hugo Race is making his way back to Australia to play us a bunch of songs from it on the No But It's True tour. The album, funnily enough, goes by that name too and it will see Race interpreting covers from a maelstrom of music eras going back as far as the '50s, all songs that explore the very notion of love; as a piece of work it promises to be an intriguing look at the way the universal concept is explored through song, particularly as it covers a variety of styles throughout.
Race, a founding member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and The Wreckery, will hit the road with support from Melbourne's Leek & The War Wick Tragedy – the brainchild of dark composer Luke Humphries and record producer Scott Blackman – through June playing the following dates.

Wednesday 20 June – Great Northern Hotel, Newcastle
Thursday 21 June – Port Macquarie Hotel
Friday 22 June – X&Y Bar, Brisbane
