New Melbourne office set up for the boutique division

Management company Hub Artist Services have today announced a Melbourne office that will see the company launch an agency division, as well as continue their management and label interests.

Former Premier Artists agent Frankie Kimpton will run the Southern office and will oversee the touring interests of the Hub roster, as well as develop the stand-alone boutique agency. Like their label, launched with Inertia April last year, the agency will run separately to the other divisions – based in Sydney – and non-exclusively to Hub's roster.

The Melbourne office will also provide a presence for the label and management divisions.

To start the new venture, Kimpton confirmed to theMusic.com.au today the agency will book his acts Damn Terran, The Demon Parade, Kate Martin, Universal project Neda and Them Bruins. Winter People and Glass Towers have also come to Hub, but both have existing ties with Hub through either the management or label divisions.

Other acts such as The Hated and House Of Laurence are new additions that Kimpton had already had discussions with.

Hub owner and Managing Director Troy Barrott said today that he felt it important to have offices in Sydney and Melbourne and that Kimpton's “roster and approach represents the future, and mirrors our philosophy of uncovering and nurturing world-class Australian talent across our existing management and label businesses. Hub Touring will become a very important piece of the puzzle for us.”

Hub have also indicated that they are expecting a busy year with albums from Megan Washington and Glass Towers and the marking of Dappled Cities' tenth anniversary.
