More Hozier More Hozier

Aussie fans of the Irish singer-songwriter Hozier could be hearing new music at his forthcoming Australian tour, as the Take Me To Church singer has surprise announced a new EP.

The new EP, called Unaired, is set for release next Friday (16 August) and can be pre-saved/pre-added here.

Announcing the release on Instagram today (7 August), Hozier wrote alongside the EP artwork, “Delighted to officially announce the new EP ‘Unaired’ is out on August 16th! You can pre-save now (link in bio). Thank you”.

Unaired follows the release of the Unheard EP, which Hozier released in March. That EP consisted of songs recorded for his latest album, Unreal Unearth (released in August 2023), but none of them made the cut, including the chart-topping single Too Sweet. Will Hozier dominate the charts again with a song from the Unaired EP?

Following the release of the Unheard EP, Hozier wrote that the songs “were a collection of songs that nearly made it to the album under the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence and the outward ‘ascent’, but couldn’t for various reasons.”

Hozier will return to Australia this November for his largest run of shows here in his career—his first tour down under in five years.

While the tour was announced in March, the demand continued to increase into late June, when he received a second Perth show and a venue upgrade in Adelaide. Those moves followed an additional show at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, added just a week after the tour was announced.

Hozier will play nine shows in Australia this November, and shows are already sold out in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

Touring in support of Unreal Unearth, the singer-songwriter told The Music’s Carley Hall about the album’s themes in an interview:

Sometimes, they can be personal reflections, or maybe, at times, deeply personal reflections or experiences of past experiences. But once it's done, and once it's out in the world, it also belongs to everyone else. And the way I view it is if something resonates with you, it most likely is going to resonate with somebody else.
