LIKE A BOSS Festival returns in 2025 with a huge all-Australian hip hop and R&B lineup that speaks to the vibrant diversity of Australia’s homegrown talent. Taking over Bar on the Hill at the Forecourt Area in Newcastle on March 15th, the space will transform into a celebration of homegrown talent, culture and community, showcasing both emerging stars and crowd favourites from across the country’s hip hop and R&B scene.

LIKE A BOSS Festival made its debut in September 2024, hosting acts like Hooligan Hefs, Lisi, The 046, Say True God, Jaecy and more at The Station on the Sunshine Coast. After a successful first year run, festival organisers have set up camp in Newcastle this time round, bringing together some of the most exciting voices in the scene.

Leading the charge for a second year is West Sydney drill-EDM artist Hooligan Hefs, bringing his high-energy party anthems like Send It and No Effect to Newcastle. Joining him is Chillinit, who will also be embarking on his Big Bash Tour during March. Prolific DJ and We Run The Night artist Havana Brown will bring her dynamic blend of hip hop and dance to the festival, with genre-bending Newcastle Mason Dane and hip hop powerhouse Youngn Lipz joining the ranks.

Described as a “movement” more than just a festival, the organisers have said that they’re keen and eager to be pushing the cause forward with the second edition of LIKE A BOSS.

“This event will again showcase an All Australian lineup featuring a number of leading Australian urban music artists. We plan to take these shows to other regional destinations around the country in the months to come. We hope event-goers enjoy the show.”

Australian hip hop centric festivals have sat in limbo over the past year as big name headliners pulled out of Listen Out and Promiseland 2024, leaving many festivalgoers to question whether Australia is still capable of housing and hosting large hip hop events. As a slew of music festivals announce they won’t be running in 2025, LIKE A BOSS has provided a reassuring answer to Australian hip hop fans that a space still exists for the genre to flourish.

LIKE A BOSS Festival goes down on Saturday, 15th of March from 4 to 10 PM at Bar on the Hill x Forecourt Area, Newcastle. Tickets are now available for purchase here.
