Home of the Arts (HOTA) 2020 promises to deliver some special events with the first look of next year's program.
23 shows have been confirmed today which will showcase a multitude of Aussie stars such as Yummy Deluxe, delivering cabaret and dance, part puppet-show/part rock-show from Laser Beak Man, the retelling of the King Arthur legend in Monty Python’s Spamalot, Jonathan Biggins performing his heartfelt one-man comedy show, The Gospel According to Paul, Happy Birthday Beethoven by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the return of the physical theatre show, Viral, by Shock Therapy Productions.
Kids will also get to join in on the fun thanks to big stage adaptations of classic children’s books The Gruffalo’s Child, Fantastic Mr Fox and Magic Beach.
“We’re presenting more opportunities for people to experience the arts in different ways,” HOTA CEO, Criena Gehrke said.
“I’m talking workshops, live performances in unexpected places, great art, and of course the best Australian and International artists and companies performing indoors and out.”
Held on the Gold Coast, the HOTA 2020 kicks off on Friday 10 January and runs all the way to Saturday 14 November.
