Brand-spankin'-new Americana festival Dashville Skyline has unveiled its second round of artists headed to the Hunter Valley this October, with the sophomore charge of acts led by the esteemed likes of alt-country outfit Holy Holy and the acclaimed Ruby Boots, it has been announced.
Not that the event really had anything to prove still, with an inaugural announcement that featured Bahamas, Wagons, All Our Exes Live In Texas, Melody Pool and many more. Nonetheless, organisers haven't taken their solid early efforts to mean that they can rest on their laurels for round two, and so the quality stays high across the board; also signing up for Dashville Skyline are country icon Shane Nicholson, Lost Ragas (led by ARIA winner Matt Walker), veteran troubadour Ben Salter and US import Leo Rondeau, who graces the festival all the way from Texas.
"This line-up is designed to reflect the sparse musical lineage between traditional roots music and modern Americana," event organiser Matt Johnston said in a statement, also indicating that initial response to the festival has been overwhelmingly positive.
"Early-bird tickets sold out fairly quickly even without an artist announcement, which is fantastic," he said. "I think that people connect with the genre and are excited about the concept of this festival.
"It's evolving every day; come October, it's going to be amazing."
