Her east coast tour kicks off on 27 July
Soulful songstress out of New Zealand, Hollie Smith, has announced she will be releasing her third solo LP, Water Or Gold, throughout Australia on 1 July, as well heading out on an east coast Australian tour to follow it up.
Water Or Gold was already released in New Zealand earlier on in March where it spent three weeks at #1, so to give the Australian public a little taste Smith unveiled the title track earlier on this week.
Smith dabbles in funk, soul, jazz, reggae, blues, rock, the list goes on. Mixed in New York at Bunker Studios by the renowned Aaron Nevezie (The Black Keys, Dangermouse, The Roots), Water Or Gold appears as a little more intense or commanding than Bathe In The River, the gospel ballad released a decade ago from where Smith's popularity originally stemmed from.
With platinum and gold plaques to her name, as well as titles such as Best Producer, Best Female Solo Artist and Breakthrough Artist of the Year from the NZ Music Awards, Australia can expect Smith's shows to be nothing short of phenomenal.
