Melbourne's Hiatus Kaiyote have found chart success in the US this week with the release of their album Choose You Weapon.

The new release has bounded into Billboard's Heat Seeker chart at number one. The chart measures sales by developing acts who have not previously charted on any of industry bible Billboard's other charts.

It lands in the top spot ahead of new releases from buzz acts Metz (in at three) and Django Django (nine).

Fellow Aussies In Hearts Wake also debuted in the same chart, with their Skydancer album coming in at 11. That record also entered the Hard Rock Albums chart at number nine.

Hiatus Kaiyote's sales figures also translated into crossover success, landing their album at #127 in the US Albums Chart — it also came in at number three on the R&B Albums chart and at 11 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.
