Critically acclaimed Australian hip-hop and electronic duo, Hermitude, will tour across the country this May in support of their highly anticipated new album, announced today.

The duo – comprising Luke Dubber (aka Luke Dubs) and Angus Stuart (Elgusto) – will release their eighth album, EIGHT, on Friday, 17 April. The album marks their first full-length release since 2022’s Mirror Mountain.

EIGHT is packed with energy and genre-maxxing, while also prioritising simplicity. It’s an inspired new chapter for Hermitude, built for collective release and designed to transform gigs into lively dancefloors. To celebrate the release of their new album, Hermitute will embark on an epic national tour.

The run begins at Newcastle’s Earp Distilling Co on Sunday, 19 April, followed by Cairns’ The Factory on Saturday, 2 May, Adelaide’s The Gov on Friday, 15 May, Perth’s Ice Cream Factory Warehouse on Saturday, 16 May, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Friday, 22 May, Hobart’s Odeon Theatre on Saturday, 23 May, Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Friday, 29 May, and wraps at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Saturday, 30 May.

The Spotify fans only pre-sale opens on Tuesday, 17 February, at 10 am AEDT. The Hermitude website mailing list pre-sale follows on Wednesday, 18 February, at 10 am AEDT. The general sale begins on Thursday, 19 February, at 10 am AEDT – head to the duo’s website for more ticketing information.

With EIGHT, Hermitude drew on inspirations such as techno, UK garage, and rave culture, doubling down on their aim of capturing joy as resistance.

“Joy feels vital right now, almost like an act of rebellion against your own sense of gloom,” the duo explained. “The dancefloor has always been one of the few places where differences dissolve.”

The album features recent collaborations with DEVAURA and Adrian Dzvuke, and additional tracks featuring UK firebrand Bob Vylan and their touring mate, IsGwan, will follow. You can pre-order/pre-save EIGHT here.

Hermitude’s illustrious career spans more than two decades. One of Australia’s most influential and beloved electronic acts, the duo took home the 2012 Australian Music Prize with their breakthrough album, HyperParadise. Their follow-up record, Dark Night Sweet Night, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts.
