Hooooo boy
Well, shit.
Swooping in at the last possible moment to provide the most awkward moment in recent Academy Awards memory, Bonnie & Clyde actors Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway just read out the wrong Best Picture winner — Moonlight, NOT La La Land — and the internet has lit up with confusion and hilarity.
It took the entire La La Land cast to excitedly take the stage before the mistake was corrected by La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz, with host Jimmy Kimmel stepping in to diffuse the tension. It was then that a disbelieving Moonlight cast rushed up on stage to receive the coveted award.
