Hellions Announce 'Opera Oblivia' Tenth Anniversary Australian Tour

The tour follows Hellions' surprise comeback shows in late December.

After playing two surprise shows in late December – their first since 2022 – Hellions have announced a full-blown tour to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their ARIA-nominated, career-defining album, Opera Oblivia.

The tour will take place this May at venues across the country, and tickets are available now—find the links below.

The tour begins at Melbourne’s Max Watts on Thursday, 7 May. It continues at Adelaide’s The Gov on Friday, 8 May, Fremantle’s Freo.Social on Saturday, 9 May, Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Thursday, 14 May, Brisbane’s The Triffid on Friday, 15 May, and Gold Coast’s Coolangatta Hotel on Saturday, 16 May.

In November, Hellions announced a surprise comeback after their last performances in 2022 and their last tour in 2019.

They played at Crowbar in Sydney and Brisbane, respectively, back in December, to launch their new era as a four-piece starring Dre Faivre, Anthony Caruso, Matthew Gravolin, and Joshua Campiao.

First formed in 2013, Hellions released their debut album Die Young that same year, before following the record with Indian Summer and Opera Oblivia in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Opera Oblivia became the Sydney outfit’s biggest commercial success, reaching #4 on the Australian charts and being nominated for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album at the ARIA Awards. This May, they’ll perform the record in its entirety.

The band’s most recent album, Rue, arrived in 2018 and peaked at #23 on the ARIA Charts. The following year, founding guitarist Gravolin announced his departure to “focus on other musical projects, and most importantly, growing aspects of his personal life.”

Today, Hellions are reunited and possess a renewed creative energy. They’ll mark this new phase of their career by celebrating ten years of Opera Oblivia and taking a bold step towards their next sonic evolution.
