Helen Reddy Biopic 'I Am Woman' Scores New Financial Backing

It's expected for release in 2019-2020.

There's a biopic being made about Australian singer Helen Reddy and it's scored itself a new financial backer.

According to Mumbrella, the film, dubbed I Am Woman, has picked up a "significant investment" from The Australian Women's Weekly magazine.

The film will be the "story of Helen Reddy who, in 1966, landed in New York with her three-year-old daughter, a suitcase and $230 in her pocket," as well as looking at her ongoing career and friendship with music journalist Lilian Roxon.

Reddy will be played by Tilda Cobham-Hervey, who has appeared in The Kettering Incident and Hotel Mumbai, while Roxon will be played by Patti Cake$ and Dumplin' star Danielle Macdonald

The film is directed by Unjoo Moon and is expect for release in 2019-2020.
