"Decisions like this are never easy."
The Birdsville Big Red Bash has been forced to lock down another venue for next week’s festival following significant rainfall at the original festival site and access roads to and from, the latter of which have been impacted severely.
Set to kick off on Monday, July 4, the Central West Queensland three-day camping festival’s star-studded line-up of classic Aussie rockers – featuring Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Troy Cassar-Daly, The Angels and more – will now perform at Birdsville Oval, with all other aspects remaining the same.
“Decisions like this are never easy, but the safety of everyone involved is paramount, and this change was the only practical option given the road conditions caused by Sunday’s rain,” a statement from the festival said.
Head to the Big Red Bash website for all details on the new location as well as up-to-date info on road conditions leading up to the event.
