HEADSEND are one of the buzziest new bands in Australia, and with good reason.
Formed by brothers Kyuss and Rasmus King and their good mate, drummer Bon Soric, the trio has already reached the milestones of their dreams.
Over the past year, the band has relentlessly toured and supported Wunderhorse across Australia, as well as opened for Tool and AC/DC on their respective arena and stadium shows.
Now, they’ve ticked off another achievement, announcing a signing with EMI/Universal Music Australia, in partnership with American Recordings/Republic Records in the US.
“HEADSEND are one of the most exciting live acts in Australia right now,” said Mark Holland, EMI Music Australia’s Managing Director. “I’ve been lucky to see them play in clubs, theatres, and arenas, and their performances always draw the audience in completely.
“The EMI Music Australia team is thrilled to be part of their journey, supporting them as they grow and evolve on their own terms.”

“HEADSEND are an exciting new force in music, and their reputation as a powerful live act is already resonating internationally,” added Universal Music Australia + New Zealand’s President and CEO, Sean Warner.
“We’re pleased to partner with them and our global label network as they continue to grow internationally.”
Having already stolen hearts with their nostalgic, loud, fuzzy, grunge sound, and tracks like STOVE, AND ANGEL, and CHUGG, the Byron Bay three-piece have also announced that alongside this signing, their debut EP, Angel Glands, will be released on Friday, 27 March.
HEADSEND have drawn from their experiences as performers and poured that intensity from their live shows into the EP. Recorded live in-studio by Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, Powderfinger), the band ensured that their dynamics and hard-hitting performances were captured on record.
You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.
In addition to announcing the signing and the EP, HEADSEND have also announced a run of Australian shows and appearances at The Great Escape showcase in the UK. Plus, they have more UK and EU shows to follow.
The band will perform across the East Coast of Australia, making stops in Byron Bay, Torquay, Sydney, Melbourne, and Coolangatta. Along the way, they’ll open for Helmet in Sydney.
Tickets can be purchased here.
While Kyuss and Rasmus King are making a name for themselves with their music, the pair are also professional surfers, and Rasmus portrayed Daniel Johns in the semi-autobiographical short film, What If The Future Never Happened?. The future is bright for the young grunge rockers.
