HBO Is Reportedly Trying To Stop Pornhub's Rampant 'Game Of Thrones' Pirates

Can't we all just get along?

US cable network HBO is reportedly "in the process" of having its copyrighted material — predominantly nude and sex scenes from Game Of Thrones — taken off infamous pornographic website Pornhub after several years of piracy.

Even in the course of research to verify the claims, initially brought forth by The Sun (in a typically histrionic and just-a-bit-NSFW manner), the link is clear: an innocuously intended search to link Game Of Thrones and Pornhub in a news context — we've got to check these things — yielded page upon page of ostensible Pornhub rips of actual footage from the show intermixed with unofficial parodies.

According to The Sun, 6 million people took to Pornhub following Game Of Thrones' sixth-season premiere "to look for material they associated with the TV show", reportedly leading to a 370% increase in searches for Game Of Thrones-related porn. As Digital Spy notes, this sits in contrast with the reported 4% drop in traffic to Pornhub during the Game Of Thrones premiere.

Although The Sun claims HBO has thus "gone bonkers" over the number of Game Of Thrones videos that have made their way onto Pornhub, their own article provides a pretty measured response from a representative at HBO about the whole thing, quoting the spokesman as saying: "HBO is aware of the issue and is in the process of getting material taken down from Pornhub."

Which is, you know, fair enough. Seriously, good luck, but totally fair enough.
