What an effort!
Channel 9's charity appeal Hay Mate has raised a whopping $4.35 million for Aussie farmers.
Last night's televised concert taking place on the Mornington Racecourse was headlined by Australian music legend John Farnham and also featured All My Exes Live In Texas, Vanessa Amorosi, Daryl Braithwaite, The Black Sorrows with Vika & Linda Bull, Russell Morris, Jon Stevens, John Williamson, Tim Wheatley and Little Georgia.

Hosted by Channel 9, in addition to the punters, people rushed to donate money online with Today reporting the number of donations caused a website crash at one point.
The money raised will be donated to Rural Aid to buy hay and water, and provide financial assistance for those who need it most.

“Farmers are the backbone of this country,” Farnham said when he was announced on the line-up in October. “I understand what they are going through. They are doing it tough through this drought. Not only do we want to help out, we want to show them that they have our support.”
