The album was co-produced by Hatebreed, Zeuss (Suicide Silence, All That Remains, Shadows Fall) and Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold), with Wilbur also handling mixing duties on the record.

The Divinity of Purpose is the follow-up to the band’s self-titled album and their covers album, For the Lions, both released in 2009.
