Get summer started right!

Esteemed Sydney-based waterside celebration Harbourlife is getting the wheels in motion for its 2014 event this November, with the announcement today of a line-up boasting the likes of Kygo, Dusky, Lee Foss and more.

Prodigious Norwegian musician and DJ Kygo has had a meteoric year, selling out 17 dates on a forthcoming tour of the United States as well as reaching the milestone of having more than 81 million plays to his name on streaming service SoundCloud. Harbourlife marks the muso’s very first jaunt Down Under, so this is a train you will want – and are able – to board at the earliest possible advent.

Dusky, if you’re unfamiliar, are not here to make you comfortable – they’re here to take you through a deep house odyssey steeped in influences as diverse as classical to avant-garde electronica. It’s an aesthetic honed and crafted through assured releases such as It’s Not Enough and Nobody Else, as well as their remixes and re-works of tracks such as Justin Martin’s Don’t Go, which was eagerly devoured by the waiting public upon its release. They’ve just released their new EP, Love Taking Over, via SoundCloud – have a listen below before adding them to your must-see list for the year.

Mix-master Lee Foss returns Down Under with his grab-bag of sounds drawn from the worlds of classic house, ‘90s hip-hop, ‘80s electro and Detroit techno. The Hot Creations label co-founder has previously been acknowledged among critics as one of the most frighteningly talented concerns in the contemporary dance-music world, and a veritable raft of highly praised releases such as The Edge, Equilibrium, U Got Me and Starfruit all do much to solidify Foss as a high-ranking drawcard among the Harbourlife roster.

Joining those acts will be Classixx (in a DJ set), Miguel Campbell, Thomas Jack, Mark Farina and more yet to be announced, so you know that prospects are looking pretty damn enticing indeed for this year’s Habourlife.

The 2014 iteration of the festival goes down on Saturday, November 8, at Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquaries Point, and will feature all-day-long entertainment chosen to get the summer event calendar off on as right a foot as possible.

Tickets for Harbourlife 2014 are on sale now; general admission will set you back from $115 (plus fees).  See the Gig Guide or check The Music App for more information.
