Forget the Lonely Hearts Club, join the Split Singles Club
Beloved Melburnian labels Milk! Records and Bedroom Suck are celebrating Valentine's Day with something unique — the announcement that they've launched into a brand new love affair with each other through the Split Singles Club, a collaboration between the two labels.
Aiming to showcase the labels' favourite new artists to fans — as well as new music from the likes of ya girl Courtney Barnett, Blank Realm and more — subscribers will receive six 7" vinyl over three months, each with a pairing of artists from Bedroom Suck and Milk!.
Bedroom Suck director Joe Alexander says, "We wanted to develop a project that encapsulated this family idea and also extended a hand to others," while Milk!'s Jen Cloher says, "I think Split Singles Club is a great reflection of how uncompetitive and collaborative we are in this town."
Cloher added, "One of the greatest frustrations of running a small label in Melbourne is that there are so many incredible bands and artists. If we could, Milk! would be releasing a new record every week. Split Singles Club was a fun and relatively cost-effective way to show off some of the bands we love that people may not have heard before."

The six volumes will also contain new tracks from lesser known acts (but acts you SHOULD know!) Hachiku, Primo, LA Mood and Emlyn Johnson.
