Guy Pearce's Infomercial-Themed Music Video Is All Kinds Of Crazy

It's a fine line between madness and genius

More Guy Pearce More Guy Pearce

We here at theMusic.com.au have seen our fair share of bizarre music videos in our time, but that doesn't mean that we're totally desensitised when it comes to new instances of the weird and wonderful. And make no mistake — as straight-up weird as some of this stuff can be, it's often every bit as wonderful in kind.

Take, for example, actor-cum-musician Guy Pearce and his new infomercial-inspired video clip for fresh single Fly All The Way. Opening with an innocuous introduction from TV's Larry Emdur, the clip gives way to a series of Danoz Direct-style vignettes in which Pearce dresses like a celebrity chef (peddling Guy Pearce meat — it's high in brotein!), a personal trainer, a beauty consultant and other modern-day snake-oil sales archetypes from the pits of late-night and daytime TV while hamming it up with the kind of commitment that is simply impossible to begrudge.

Regardless of what you think of Pearce's track, the clip itself is actually pretty funny, mercilessly skewering modern excess and idiocy while spouting incredible statistics like "Happy familes are 200% happier than ordinary families", and promises that you can "solve world hunger AT HOME"! Also, he pops on a pair of fake breasts at the end, so… that happens.

Like we said: Weird and wonderful. Watch it below.
