Tina Fey's a pusher
At long last, cult classic Mean Girls has secured a premiere date for its upcoming Tina Fey-penned musical and if, like Aaron Samuels, you're wondering what day it is, guess what — it's October 3.
As Billboard reports, the Mean Girls musical will open at the National Theatre in Washington DC and will be directed by Tony-winning Book Of Mormon co-director Casey Nicholaw, produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels and composed by Fey's husband Jeff Richmond.
Fey and Richmond are both executive producers of Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, with the pair telling fans at Tribeca Film Festival last April that lead actor Ellie Kemper's recent pregnancy allowed them more time over summer to finish the new Mean Girls project.
