Green Day To Celebrate 30 Years Of 'Dookie' With Massive Anniversary Reissue

Green Day are celebrating 30 years of their seminal third album, Dookie, with a massive anniversary reissue that includes limited edition vinyl and CD box sets.

In addition to the original 15-song album – hidden track All By Myself is an official part of the album now – The Line Of Best Fit reports that the Dookie 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition arrives with 4-Track Demos, Cassette Demos, and two live shows, Live At Woodstock (1994) and the previously unheard Live In Barcelona (June 5 ’94).

You can pre-order your copy of the Dookie 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition for a 29 September release via the Green Day website. The deluxe edition can either be purchased as a six-LP or four-CD collection.

“Sometimes you take a gamble and luck’s on your side. Back in the summer of ‘93 Green Day went into the studio to record Dookie and had no idea what their destiny would be,” the band wrote on Instagram upon announcing the Dookie reissue overnight (17 August). “They were young, rebellious, and absolutely scared shitless. There was no telling if they were about to prove everyone wrong or make the biggest mistake of their lives.

“This year Dookie turns 30, and they’ve cracked open the vaults putting together an epic 30th Anniversary Super Deluxe version of the album that will be available as a 6-LP vinyl, 4-CD box set and up everywhere digitally.” Ten four-track demos are available to listen to now.

The deluxe edition doesn’t just arrive with sets of vinyl and CDs; it also comes with a 36-page book and items of memorabilia inspired by Dookie artwork, such as dog poo bags, air freshener, magnet sheet, button set, stickers and more.
