The ARIA Week event lights up the Cross on November 23
Melburnian folk-pop songstress Gossling has been unveiled as the artist leading the charge among a field of more than fifteen new acts that have been added to the existing line-up for ARIA Week's forthcoming Kings Cross IGNITE: Heat The Street event.
The five-time ARIA nominee joins an existing line-up already peppered with the esteemed likes of M-Phazes, KLP, The Potbelleez and many more, all set to descend on the Cross from 2pm-6pm on Sunday, November 23. They'll all be more than capably backed up by a broad array of new additions such as TIAAN, Morgan Evans, Hydraulix, Jonathan Zwartz Quartet, Darryl Beaton Band, Leroy Lee, Steve Barry Trio, Stu Hunter Trio (featuring Simon Barker), Martinez Akustica, C Major, Sensitive Zombie, Michael Duchesne, Thandiwe Phoenix, Levi 5 Star (featuring Amy Chase), La Fiesta Sound System and DJ Ocky & Mark Matthews.
Curated by 2014 APRA Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year Louis Schoorl, this year's Kings Cross IGNITE event boasts more than 40 Aussie artists on show throughout the iconic strip's many venues, with new haunt The X Studio assuming a central supportive role for the annual initiative. That space will be treated to an acoustic set from up-and-coming vocalist Martha Marlow, the progeny of Jonathan Zwartz, as well as a show from veteran local muso and The Voice contestant Doug "Papa D" Williams with Jeff Duff and Craig Calhoun.
"Kings Cross has nurtured and sustained my career in Sydney since the '70s with residencies in venues such as Springfields, Round Midnight, The Tunnel and more," Williams said in a statement.

"The Cross has given me the platform to launch my bands Power, Half Moon, Slick Street and now The Mix, which has in turn employed so many of my musicians and entertained thousands of fans over the years. Being included on this event allows me to give back and more excitedly share the billing with my daughter, TIAAN."
Not to take the focus away from live music, The X Studio will also be sporting a DJ line-up for the afternoon, comprised of GG Magree, Tikki Tembo, Shantan Wantan Ichiban, Dolso and Nes.
Alongside The X Studio, Cross venues getting involved include Uliveto, Goldfish, Barrio Chino, Crane Bar, Kings Cross Hotel, Kit & Kaboodle, Sugarmill Hotel, New Hampton, The Bourbon and The World Bar. New space X 54 will also get in on the act, hosting a stage-production homage to the city's renowned Les Girls, titled Les 54.
