As the wait for this year’s Good Things Festival gets shorter and shorter, organisers have started drip-feeding us information – starting overnight with the dates for the trio of events.
Like the festival always does, Good Things 2024 will run over the course of a single weekend, starting in Melbourne (Naarm) on Friday December 6, then rolling up to Sydney (Eora) on Saturday December 7, and wrapping up in Brisbane (Meanjin) on Sunday December 8.
Venues are yet to be confirmed, but it’s safe to assume that Good Things 2024 will go down at its usual haunts – Flemington Racecourse for the Melbourne date, Centennial Park in Sydney, and the Showgrounds in Brisbane.
In announcing the dates for this year’s festival, Good Things’ organisers also opened up the official mailing list (which you can sign up for here), hinting that news on the lineup isn’t too far off. Worth noting: the lineup for Good Things 2023 arrived in August, while the lineup for Good Things 2022 came considerably earlier in June.

Looking at the comments on social media, fans have wasted no time in sharing their hopes and predictions for the Good Things 2024 lineup. Several commenters have thrown their bids in for Sum 41 – “If it's not Sum 41 then I don't want it,” wrote one ardent fan – and the band do indeed have a gap in their touring schedule that lines up with the newly announced dates.
Another band frequently requested is Korn, with one diehard fan writing: “If Korn are on this lineup I hope they are headliners. Not second headliner, but headliner. Their performance at Download in Melbourne six years ago was enormous.” They too have no tour dates announced for the week of Good Things 2024.
Some other bands that multiple commenters have asked for include Bad Omens, Spiritbox, Good Charlotte, Motionless In White and A Day To Remember – all of whom are viable candidates for the lineup, with no (currently announced) tour dates clashing with it. Thankfully, too, we can safely squash the rumours that Falling In Reverse will appear at the festival – they’ll be in the UK while Good Things 2024 goes down.
The return of Good Things was confirmed back in April, when organisers wrote in a statement: “We are beyond excited to be working behind the scenes to assemble our 2024 lineup for you. We know that music festivals have been in the news for the wrong reasons of late, but we are here and can't wait for December to roll around once again!”
Good Things 2023 was headlined by Fall Out Boy, Limp Bizkit and Devo, with other highlights on the bill including I Prevail, Bullet For My Valentine, Corey Taylor, Pennywise, Enter Shikari, Behemoth, Sepultura, Taking Back Sunday and PVRIS.
Reviewing the Brisbane edition of Good Things 2022, TheMusic.com.au’s Tim Price and Jess Wall wrote: “All in all, Good Things Festival has planted the flag back in the ground for larger-scale, international-artist-led festivals again. Morale was high, fashion was incredible, the sounds a joy to hear in the open air once again, and LONG LIVE LIVE MUSIC!”
