Gold Fields Perform To Full House At SxSW

They were one of the most talked about bands at SxSW on day four.

Of all the bands our reporter Andrew Mast saw on day four of SxSW, it seems as if our very own Gold Fields were one of the most hotly tipped, so much so that our reporter believes the band might make a dent in the US market rather soon. From their set at Austin venue Lustre Pearl, he said:

"The band played to a full house and fans in the audience did not shut up about them (still heard some kids talking about them midway through the next band's set). You got the sense that some US success may await these guys in the near future."

We also finally managed to get a reporter in to catch Adelaide buzz band Atlas Genius after a number of tried but ultimately aborted attempts to catch a glimpse of the Aussie SxSW darlings.

Nick Lynagh caught them at The Belmont and put it simply:

"So it is now confirmed. Atlas Genius does exist. They are Australian. The buzz is real. And they are definitely making their mark on SxSW 2013."

We also managed to have Keith from the aformentioned Atlas Genius check in from Austin and give us a little bit of a rundown on how things are going, as well as introduce his band to his home audience. You can hear that here.
