'Wanderlust' drops next Friday, 3 February

More Hollow Coves More Hollow Coves

Brisbane-based folk duo Hollow Coves have only released a couple of singles to date, but both are so accomplished and inviting that it's hard not to be a bit excited about the upcoming release of their debut EP, Wanderlust.

Scheduled for release next Friday, 3 February, the six-track release features both flagship songs unveiled so far — assured debut The Woods, and simply sublime follow-up Coastline — alongside four other slices of acoustic-driven aural affability, and serves as an effective showcase for the instrumental and vocal talents of members Matt Cairns and Ryan Henderson.

If the songs seem to carry a worldly air, that's because they're infused with global roots — Cairns and Henderson exchanged creative ideas across the seas, with one in England and the other in Canada, during the formative stages of the album, before reuniting in Toronto to shore up their plans before laying the tracks down at Montreal's Indica Studios and finishing up back in Brissy.

Ahead of the EP's release, Hollow Coves have been kind enough to supply us with an exclusive behind-the-scenes gallery from their time working on the EP, which you can check out at your leisure below (click to enlarge pictures).
