Glass Animals' smash single keeps coming in... waves

More Glass Animals More Glass Animals

After a great start to the year here in Australia for their song Heat Waves, grabbing the coveted #1 slot on triple J's Hottest 100 and just this week hitting the peak of the ARIA singles charts, Glass Animals have released a special live version of the track.

Glass Animals’ Dave Bayley has teamed up with the rising star Holly Humberstone for a mesmerising version of Heat Waves, filmed in London last month.

The one-take performance features Bayley, acoustic guitar in hand, and Humberstone wandering around a park, harmonising effortlessly to the band's introspective love song. Bayley must love walking in public to the song, as the original video had him walking along a street in London for most of it, though this time being an acoustic version, he got to leave the buggy full of gear behind.

It's another interesting chapter in the the long journey of Heat Waves, now nearly nine months after its original release, which includes a chance encounter with Johnny Depp during the recording of the song, which Bayley himself mentioned to us on release of their album Dreamland here.
