Sydney live music venue Roundhouse will “finally be connected to the CBD”, thanks to a new light rail opening in 2020.
Expected to operate as of March, Sydney Light Rail will have a stop on Anzac Parade just outside of the venue, with services to and from the city every eight minutes.
“The service will open up new opportunities for Sydney concert-goers to enjoy the local and international artists that tour our venue,” Roundhouse head of venue and events Jason Lyons said.
“With our proximity to the airport, extensive bus services to UNSW and the new light rail service, we’re more accessible than ever.”
New World Artists senior booking agent Tom Johannesen added: “The Roundhouse is one of our favourite venues in the country to see a band. Sound and lighting are world-class and to finally be connected to the CBD will be a great thing for live music in Sydney.”
Roundhound regularly hosts national and international artists, and, since its reopening in 2018, has welcomed Millencolin, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Karnivool and more with gigs from Northlane, Holy Holy and Lime Cordiale scheduled for next month.
