Get Your First Taste Of Marvel's 'Agent Carter' TV Series

Hayley Atwell's 'Captain America' heroine takes centre stage in her own show

As its longtime rival DC Comics enjoys the small-screen dominance of its stable of TV adaptations, recently bolstered by the addition of The FlashGotham and ConstantineMarvel is slowly but surely deepening its TV presence, coming to the party with the Hayley Atwell-led Agent Carter.

Now, as the Captain America spin-off show's January airdate draws nearer, Marvel have unveiled the first sneak peek at the program, giving us a solid show of Atwell in ass-kicking action after reintroducing us to mid-20th-century genius Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), as well as bringing in a character sadly missing from the Iron Man franchise, Stark family butler Edwin Jarvis (here played by James D'Arcy; Jarvis was reimagined as sentient AI for the Iron Man films, probably to avoid the Alfred comparisons).

Agent Carter forms part of Marvel's second phase in establishing its shared cinematic universe, and is its second small-screen property, after Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The show, along with 2015's features, Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Ant-Man (in which Atwell will also appear as Carter), and Netflix's forthcoming Daredevil series, rounds out phase two, before phase three sees even more TV titles - Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Defenders - and no less than nine more films, including Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Inhumans and the two-part Avengers: Infinity War.
