West Australian record label The Community is celebrating 10 years of operations, and, to help get us in the partying mood, have compiled a list of what they believe are the top ten tracks produced by the label over the past decade.
Boasting among its ranks esteemed artists such as Diger Rokwell, Mathas, Able8, Ylem and FG, The Community has grown from the humblest of beginnings to being the shepherd for multiple WAMi Award-winning acts, garnering nominations of its own along the way, and now stands as one of Western Australia's foremost independent stables for fledgling musicians.
Have a listen to the fine array of aural activity curated since WAMi Award winners Ash Hosken and Tom Mathieson established the Community back in 2004. Over the years, the label has represented about 30 acts, so it couldn't have been an easy task to whittle the list down to the top 30%, but they've given it a red-hot crack. Wrap your ears around this goodness.
To further celebrate the occasion, The Community will be holding a 10-year anniversary party at WA venue The Bakery tomorrow night, across two rooms, and featuring performances from the acts listed above as well as stablemates Vishnu, Maxy Bills and DJ Silence, plus more.
Entry will set you back $10 if you buy online, or $15 at the door. The festivities kick off from 8pm.
