The group are also SAM Award nominees.
Adelaide favourites Germein have been added to the epic Lytham Festival line-up on the Lancashire Coast in England. They perform on the same day as Sting, Blondie, and Kaiser Chiefs. The festival takes place from 28 June to 2 July 2023.
"We are a little lost for words... honoured to be playing Lytham Festival alongside such an insane line-up next year. Artists like Sting & Blondie, we grew up listening to them, so to be opening for them is just mind-blowing. Absolutely can't wait for it," said Georgia Germein.
The pop-rock sister trio are finalists in the South Australian Music (SAM) Awards, happening tonight, in three categories: People's Choice - Pop - which they won in 2019; Best Regional Artist, and their mum Sue Germein is up for Best Manager. The SAM Awards celebrate the artists, venues, and industry professionals that make the South Australian music scene thrive.
The band are "humbled" to be finalists at this year's SAM Awards. They wrote on social media, "Big love to all of you who voted for us in the People’s Choice... and to all the judges who included us as finalists in the Industry & Major Awards alongside so many incredible artists.
"Thanks for all your continued love & support as always, we are soooo grateful we get to do this as fam with you all... ps. Adelaide we can’t wait to see you at our Jive show next month!!!"
We caught Germein at BIGSOUND 2022. The collective rays of sunshine from the sisters - Georgia, Ella, and Clara - kept us moving as showcase proceedings ended. We wrote, "Guitarist Georgia impresses us with her jaw-dropping belts, bolstered by a bed of pitch-perfect harmonies from her sibling counterparts. Georgia even hops on the keys for a brief stint during their powerful new single Good For A Girl. The band really look like they're having a ball, and it's the perfect injection of pep and pizzazz that we need at this hour of the night."

Germein opened for Tom Jones in the UK earlier this year.
When Georgia spoke with the Worcester Times, she noted, "It’s surreal to be opening for such a legend like Tom Jones. He’s such an incredible performer, and his show is lots of fun to watch. We are having the best time warming up his amazing crowds, who have been so kind and welcoming to us."
