Geraldine Hickey To Depart RRR: 'I Can Not Thank You Enough'

Comedian and broadcaster Geraldine Hickey will leave RRR’s 'Breakfasters' radio program next month.

Comedian and broadcaster Geraldine Hickey has announced today she’ll be stepping down from her post as co-host for RRR’s Breakfasters radio program.

Hickey, who has been with the Breakfasters’ team for over five years, says she’s taking the opportunity to focus on live stand-up, acting, as well as getting some well-earned sleep-ins.

“I plan on doing more stand up around the country, filming of Metro Sexual starts in a few weeks and I'll spend some more quality time in the lesbian pit,” the comic shared to her Instagram page.

“A huge thanks to all the listeners that have tuned in over the years to hear my cooked stories. I can not thank you enough.”

Hickey is currently touring encore performances of her newest show, What A Surprise, which garnered rave reviews at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Fellow comedian and cricket commentator Bobby Macumber has been announced to fill the gap in the Breakfasters line-up. She’ll step up to the plate after Hickey’s final show next Friday, 11 June.
