"Inquiries into the death of George Michael have been concluded..."
Following pop icon George Michael's death on Christmas Day last year and tests coming up inconclusive, the British singer's cause of death has finally been confirmed: Michael died of natural causes.
As BBC reports, Michael was suffering from heart and liver disease (dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver) which ultimately led to his passing at the age of 53.
The senior coroner Darren Salter says there is no need for an inquest.
"Inquiries into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post-mortem report received.

"As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further enquiries.
"No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy," Salter said.
Michael's death continues to affect fans and music-lovers around the world, with the late singer being paid tribute by Adele at the Grammy Awards recently. A tribute float to Michael was also created for last week's Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras.
