George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic Bring The Galactic Space Circus To Australia

5 November 2012 | 9:18 am | Dan Condon

Three Golden Plains sideshows have been announced.

We already knew that George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic would be bringing the P-Funk mothership down to Australia for Golden Plains in March next year, but now we can reveal that the godfather of funk will be stopping by cities across the country for a series of sideshows while in our part of the world.

George Clinton, with his bands Parliament and Funkadelic, is arguably the most influential funk musician of all time – there aren't too many other artists who could be considered in the same ballpark as this guy. There is no one quite like Clinton and, even at the age of 71, he tours the world with an enormous band, slamming out massive funk jams that fuse together to make marathon sets of dancing, partying and generally having a good, funky time.

Music wise it's hard to know where to start with Clinton, his songs are some of the most sampled in the history of contemporary music and they go through some seriously psychedelic funk through their sets. Word is the band will be 22-members strong on this trip, and they'll be making a whole lotta noise while they are here.

Catch them bringing the nastiest funk you ever did hear at the following shows:
