Genesis Owusu Reveals Support Acts For 2026 Australian Tour

DEVAURA, Sonic Reducer, The Empty Threats and others will open the shows on Genesis Owusu's forthcoming tour.

With less than a week left until Genesis Owusu’s RED STAR WU’S PIRATE RADIO Tour kicks off, the rapper and singer has announced an inspired group of special guests to open his shows.

Newcastle local Conflikt, an act inspired by hip-hop and jazz, opens the show at Bar On The Hill. In Canberra, punk rockers Sonic Reducer have been added to the bill, while in Brisbane and Melbourne, R&B and pop artist Kye will hit the stage first up.

In Sydney, Owusu will be joined by the endlessly fascinating DEVAURA; meanwhile, in Adelaide, he’ll be accompanied by post-punk meets noise-rock outfit The Empty Threats, and in Perth, powerhouse duo And Beyond will open the show.

Genesis Owusu is touring in support of his forthcoming album, REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE, which drops on Friday, 15 May, via OURNESS.

“I started writing this album because I was seeing so much of the world and watching what was happening,” Owusu explained of the album.

“I felt like I had something important to say. I was writing this almost out of necessity because there were so many people not saying what needed to be said. I feel like I’m a student of Nina Simone, and she said, ‘the purpose of an artist is to reflect the times they live in’.”
