Game Of Thrones' Hodor Is Coming

19 May 2014 | 6:04 pm | Staff Writer

Melbourne fans have the chance to meet, greet, and eat with the gentle giant himself

Hear ye, hear ye, people of the Seven Kingdoms: silent, sturdy Game Of Thrones sidekick Hodor (Kristian Nairn) is on his way Down Under, today being announced as a new addition to the already sizeable line-up of guests for July's Oz Comic-Con in Melbourne.

Known to fans of the show for his character's extensive vocabulary and incredibly huggable frame, Nairn made headlines in March when he publicly came out as gay, before then becoming even more a darling of the internet when it was discovered that he's a dab hand at DJing, too.

Got an hour to kill?

As part of the Oz Comic-Con experience, the event organisers are making available for purchase 10 tickets that will give the lucky holder the chance to sit down and have dinner with the man himself - hopefully he's a little more chatty in person than on TV, or maybe he'll have brought his decks with him. You can only live in hope.

Showclix has the lowdown on various ticket packages for the event, including the VIP dinner tickets.

Nairn joins fellow Melbourne headliners Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate: SG-1, MacGyver), Max Grodenchik and Aron Eisenberg (Ferengi father-and-son duo Rom and Nog from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), X-Men: Days Of Future Past's Shawn Ashmore, voice actors Dante Basco and Olivia Hack, and a slew of A-list Aussie and international comic-book artistic talent such as Wayne and Adam Nichols, Nicola Scott, Paul Abstruse, Paul Mason, Tristan Jones and Stewart McKenny.

Film and TV line-ups vary between cities/states (Brisbane/Sydney get fellow Thrones star Jason Momoa), while the comics roster stays generally pretty constant, so it's worth checking the Oz Comic-Con website for a full list of guests on a city-by-city basis.
