Future Classic Team Up With MCA For Summer Music Program

Venerated indie label Future Classic is joining forces with the Museum Of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) in Sydney to stage FCxMCA, a series of intimate 300-capacity Sunday-afternoon parties throughout summer 2015, highlighting the best and brightest in the electronic scene at home and from abroad.

Having burst to life last night with an official launch party featuring showings from the likes of George Maple, Panama and the Future Classic DJs, FCxMCA gets under way proper on Sunday, January 4, with a performance from Norway's Cashmere Cat. After that show, the UK's Redinho will play on Sunday, February 22, and Swiss hero Cyril Hahn will grace the Sculpture Terrace on Sunday, March 29.

"My partner Jay and I have always enjoyed visits to documenta in Germany, the Venice Biennale and many contemporary galleries around the world on our travels, "Future Classic's Nathan McLay says of the new venture. "That travel and intersection of contemporary art and music opened our eyes to collaborations such as the MOMA PS1 Warm Up series in New York and the Sonar festival in Barcelona, whose day venue is the Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona (MACBA). It is these events that inspired the FCxMCA collaboration."

The joint venture was made possible with the assistance of the MCA Young Ambassador Program, a group of Museum supporters who, for $42 a month, are bestowed with access to exclusive, curated, twice-monthly art and cultural events. For info on how to join, head to the Young Amabassadors page.
