Midweek chart figures

INXS will face a new challenge to their top spot on the ARIA Album Chart this week with a storming Robbie Williams chasing down the Australian rock band's lead ahead of Beck and local hip hop group Funkoars.

On the back of the inescapable mini-series INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, INXS have spent two weeks at number one with The Very Best Of. While sales are slowing this week, according to midweek figures, they're holding what was a pretty big lead. Williams was in Australia this week to promote his upcoming tour and his Swings Both Ways album, released December, has shot up the chart as a result. It's currently sitting at 18, having previously peaked at five.

That tussle will decide the top spot while the top debut will come from Beck's Morning Phase, which is a top five chance at this stage. Adelaide hip hop group Funkoars' Dawn of The Head EP is in line to challenge the top ten at this stage while Sydney indie rockers Papa Vs Pretty's White Deer Park is a little way down in the standings and looking at a top 40 challenge at this stage. The Fray's Helios is sitting in the middle of the two local releases.

As well as Williams, big movers this week include Katy Perry's Prism, which given her tour announcement today will only climb further, RUFUS' Atlas, recently toured Eminem's Curtain Call: The Hits, Soundwave's A Day To Remember's Common Courtesy and Lady Gaga's Artpop, who's another popstar touring soon.

In the ARIA Singles Chart 5 Seconds Of Summer's She Looks So Perfect will likely be the highest debut this week, ahead of David Guetta featuring Skylar Grey's Shot Me Down and Gabielle Aplin's The Power Of Love.

The main threat to Pharrell's Happy will be Sara Bareilles' resurgent Brave, while Kim Cesarion's Undressed, American Authors' Best Day Of My Life and Neon Jungle's Braveheart also improving on their current positions.
