Fremantle music venue Clancy's Fish Pub Fremantle is set to close for three months for renovations, after the managers secured a new 20-year lease.
A haven for regular blues, roots and folk shows, the “long overdue” renovations will look to extend the trading area of the Cantonment St venue. A 'beefed up' PA system is also in the plans.
During that three month period the operators will open up a pop-up bar in Victoria Hall, on Fremantle's High St – Exile On High Street.
Dating back to 1897, the venue's basement will be used for acoustic performances as well as comedy and poetry.
Regular live programming will continue at the 'old' Clancys in Fremantle until it winds up Sunday 15 June to begin renovations.
