Split your sides... in silence!
This year's Festival Of The Sun doesn't need to make itself any more appealing — it sold out ludicrously quickly — but it's proving itself an event of the people by going ahead and adding a bunch of new attractions and acts to keep its punters happy this December.
First and foremost, organisers are pretty chuffed with the inclusion of the Silent Comedy bill, which is pretty much exactly like a silent disco, except instead of getting to watch on in amusement as people dance around to ostensibly nothing, it's exactly that but with more laughter and less moving around.
Keeping the crowd's funny bones tickled via the magic of wireless headphones will be Gen Fricker, Luke Heggie, Marty Bright and local comedian Anna Wilson; the first session kicks off on the first evening of the festival and is included in the price of a Thursday-night ticket.
Further fattening the proverbial FOTSUN fowl is the spread of free craft workshops, including a "make your own merch" session with Rhi Rebellion and graffiti workshops from resident artist Sigh Luxton, while the event's fair games — taking place throughout the campgrounds — are designed to grease the wheels of social interaction and help show-goers get a little more comfortable with one another. You're stuck together for several days of good times, after all.
