FOMO Festival Responds To Reports Of Security Guard Choking Punter

"FOMO Festival do not condone the use of excessive force or violence at any of our events."

Organisers of Aussie dance event, FOMO Festival, have responded to reports that a punter was choked by a security guard at the Brisbane leg on Saturday, after footage of the incident went viral.

As reported by The Courier Mail, the footage, captured on a mobile phone by another festival-goer at Riverstage, shows two security guards holding a male on the ground, while one of the bouncer's hands can be seen around the punter's throat.

The security guard can also be seen telling others to "fuck off" as people try to intervene.

"On Saturday the 7th of January an incident occurred at our FOMO Festival Brisbane site between security and a festival attendee," a statement released online by FOMO reads.

"We appreciate your continued patience whilst we work with the external security company Asset Protection Systems and QPS (Queensland Police Services) to further investigate the matter.
