Foals: 'We're Like Oil-Riggers'

The Oxford lads talk leaving their girlfriends at home while they're off touring.

More Foals Foals Profile

We have an exclusive video of a recent interview theMusic did with band of the moment Foals. In the clip, lead singer Yannis Philippakis and guitarist Jimmy Smith gave us insight into the "terrifying" feeling of putting out a new album and hitting the road.

When asked about whether their girlfriends go along for the tour ride, Smith compared themselves to "oil-riggers" and "miners" who have to leave their partners behind. Philippakis also states that he enjoys the oblivion of the road and that feeling of almost forgetting who he is when touring.

Check out the clip here.

Their latest album Holy Fire is out now. According to the mid-week chart report, the record is expected to debut well.
