To cap off a remarkable year, Sydney producer Flume took out three awards at tonight's ARIA Awards, including Best Male Artist, Best Dance Album and Breakthrough Artist/Release, while Tame Impala went home with Album Of The Year, Best Group and Best Year Rock Album.
Also securing numerous awards, Guy Sebastian saw Best Pop Release and Best Live Performance, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' Push The Sky Away took out Best Independent Release and Best Adult Contemporary Album, and more than 40 years since co-founding Mushroom Records and Mushroom Music Publishing, Michael Gudinski was awarded the very first ARIA Industry Icon Award, while legendary rockers Air Supply were inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
ARIA CEO Dan Rosen said the results of this year's awards were evidence that 2013 has been a remarkable year for Australian music.
“The collection of tonight's winners and performers shows the amazing talent currently in the Australian music industry and ARIA is proud to be able to present these artists to the Australian public and celebrate their achievements,” Mr Rosen said.
